A great year is over!

If you earned a prize -- see the final standings under results -- and did not get one at the finale (we gave out over 20), the certificates will be at Super Jock 'n Jill by Friday afternoon, February 24.

The New Balance / Super Jock 'n Jill Winter Grand Prix is alive and healthy in its third decade of chilly, wet, muddy fun!  Race number 3 -- our second road race -- ended up with a near-record 221 finishers, only 3 shy of our all-time high!  We had another near-record in our track races, ending up with 157 finishers.  Overall, this was the second-biggest year in terms of finishers of the six races combined in our 21-year history.

The series remains what we've intended for all these years.  We've had a few stunning days at Magnuson Park, but mostly it is about doing what you need to do to win your age division -- get out there despite the weather and put one foot in front of the other as fast as you can.

Click on the headings for more information, and we hope to see you at the planned start of the 22nd year on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Magnuson Park.

The New Balance / Super Jock ‘n Jill Winter Grand Prix Two-Mile Series was founded in 1996 to help motivate high school kids during the dreary winter months.  It hasn’t exactly turned out that way – open and masters competition is just as strong!  The five stooges who started the series -- Tom Anderson, Alan Bonney, Kenny Emerick, Brian Oster, and Bill Roe -- have been fixtures over the years.

There are six races each season – two road races, two cross country races, a track race, and a finale where runners with at least three times in the first five races are given a “handicap” start time.  The idea is that – if we do our job really well – everyone in the finale will cross the finish line at the same time!  We had 60 finishers out of 100 within 40 seconds for the 2015-16 finale, but still haven't figured out some of you and your miraculous finale races...

New Balance and Super Jock ‘n Jill provide prizes periodically throughout the year and for the top three in each of our divisions.  Nathan Hale High School cross country provides the volunteers for a donation to their program.
